The following case is perhaps the most controversial in recent history. Angelina Jolie and her Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star, Brad Pitt, developed an on-set romance throughout the film’s 2004 production. This would have been fine, if Pitt was not married to Jennifer Anniston at the time. The couple split up in 2005, and in 2006, Jolie and Pitt picked up where they left off. Not that Mr. and Mrs. Smith would last either, as Pitt and Jolie subsequently divorced in 2016.

Pop sensation Britney Spears fell in love with one of her backup dancers, called Kevin Federline. The two began dating in 2014 and following just three months of passionate dating, were engaged. The only thing blocking the madly in love Spears and Federline was the latter’s wife, Shar Jackson. To make things worse, Jackson was pregnant with their second child. Ultimately, Federline and Spears tied the knot, a marriage that produced a couple of sons. Their marriage would be intensely brief, unsurprisingly, and their 2006 divorce was inevitable.
