September 7, 1998, at the Busch Stadium. Mark McGwire, head slugger of the Cardinals, successfully knocks home run number 61 through the air, joining Roger Maris for a tied record. But McGwire would go on to surpass Maris by hitting another home run the following afternoon. He would end up finishing off with 70 for his respective season. It would be three years later in 2001 that the record would be broken once more with 73 home runs from Barry Bonds.

December 22, 2001, Vikings vs. Steelers. Randy Moss, the wide receiver for the Vikings, snatches the ball that flew 62 yards through the air by the tips of his fingers. This completion occurred throughout the fourth quarter of an eventual Pittsburgh victory over Minnesota with a 21-16 final score. The way that Moss managed to pinch the ball out of the air was phenomenal, with this photographer managing to capture the exact millisecond that the ball balanced precariously in Moss’s hand.
