30+ Incredible Aircraft Designs That You Absolutely Want To See

Published on 03/24/2023

We’re sure that most of us have liked gazing into the sky and watching the planes fly by. Well, you’ve considered riding one, haven’t you? Nonetheless, no matter how many times we’ve seen planes, they’ll always be cool. What if we told you that they might be even more relaxed than they are now? Do you still not believe us? So, why not check out these fantastic planes with creative paint jobs that are guaranteed to attract everyone’s attention? Believe us when we say that after seeing these planes, you’ll wish that all planes were like this.

The Sea Turtle

The plane features the airline’s distinctive and one-of-a-kind Hawaiian sea turtle livery. ANA is the superjumbo’s first customer in Japan. The three ANA A380s will be painted with sea turtles unique to Hawaii in this special aircraft paint job, which took the Airbus crew 21 days to complete using 16 distinct hues of color. The ANA A380 is one of Airbus’ most intricately decorated aircraft.

Canada’s Maple Leaves

The much-discussed but never seen Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Demo Aircraft. This custom-painted fighter plane bears Canada’s signature red and white—the de facto emblem of our northern brothers—with an inventive representation of the maple leaf. The CF-18 fighter jet was announced at the RCAF’s 150th Anniversary Air Show in 2017, commonly known as Canada150. The CF-18 has a top speed of 1,127 miles per hour and can fly faster than the speed of sound!

Duck Plane

What you’re looking at here is a member of Nokair’s amazing fleet of planes. But what you’re looking at is a Boeing 737-800 painted in the shape of a duck. If you’re familiar with the airline, you’ll recognize this as one of their quirky, goofy bespoke aircraft paint jobs. They offer an entire line of decorated wildlife-themed planes. But this is the coolest custom-painted Boeing we could locate, and it belongs to Nokair.

Duck Plane

The Rooster

The ol’ single-prop, two-passenger painted and rooster-shaped plane. You see them all the time, right? But, we can’t decide if it’s wonderful or the worst aircraft we’ve ever seen. Nonetheless, we think it’s fantastic. The attention to detail on the aircraft/head is nothing short of amazing. Rooster’s If you look closely, you’ll notice that the pilot of this strange aircraft is wearing an old-school leather helmet and goggles. This one is fantastic.

The Rooster

The Rainbow Dream Chaser 5

The private jet pictured here is one of the most recognizable jets to ever grace the skies. The Lear Jet type 35, dubbed “Dream Chaser 5,” was provided by International Jet Aviation, a Denver-based aircraft charter and management company. This particular airplane was used to transport very ill children all over the world, depending on their wishes. Since 1990, the business has conducted these flights on a variety of aircraft. The plane will be phased out of service in 2019.

The Rainbow Dream Chaser 5

The Tiger’s Eye

This bad boy was debuted to the world during the 2003 NATO Tiger Meet, a multi-national training event that has been running for nearly 50 years. The Mirage 2000RDI 83/12-YL received one of the greatest aircraft paint jobs we’ve ever seen from the host unit EC 1/12 shown here. Watch how it was done in detail, including the tiger’s sparkle in the eyes. Regrettably, this Mirage crashed before it could complete its mission.

The Tiger’s Eye

Eye Of The Tiger… Again

The French Dassault Rafale M Fighter has a ‘Arctic Tiger’ appearance. What makes this one stand out from the previous huge cat-themed fighter jet? The custom-painted Dassault Rafale is certainly scary. We like how the white and black of the plane makes the red eyes stand out even more. This aircraft was also painted for the NATO Tiger Meet.

Eye Of The Tiger… Again

Flying Nemo

Just keep flying, right? This is certainly the goal of the Nemo-themed aircraft. If you’ve seen the movie Finding Nemo, you’ll recognize this as a custom-painted plane. Pink Aviation in the Czech Republic is the owner of this beauty, which is a Short SC-7 Skyvan 3-100. With Nemo flying so far in the sky, we can’t see his father having trouble finding him now!

Merry Christmas!

She’s stunning, isn’t she? The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II’s paint scheme, displayed above, is one of the few times when the Warthog is not in the typical battle-gray color schemes. This personalized A-10 Warthog is a real head-turner, replete with reindeer, Christmas wreaths, and the traditional red and green color scheme. No other plane here screams “Merry Christmas” like this one!

Merry Christmas!

Shark Warthogs

This is what we’re referring to! We’ve all grown to know and love the A-10, but there’s a twist! We’ve all seen the basic Warthog, but this dark green olive with a nose paint job is well worth the extra money. This A-10 paint scheme is merely average! This nasty boy would despise being the recipient. We have a lot of strange airplanes in this post, but we had to throw them back at a very real, very terrifying ground attack aircraft in this slide.

Shark Warthogs

The SexyJet

Clay Lacy Aviation’s nasty Gulfstream GV is rightly titled “SexyJet” This Gulfstream tradition’s chameleon-like colour is one-of-a-kind and not inexpensive. The Gulfstream GV jet cabin includes a full-sized galley with cold and hot food preparation, power outlets for office equipment, fold-out work tables, and a private washroom. The Gulfstream GV is powered by two Rolls-Royce engines. In terms of custom aircraft paint jobs, this custom Gulfstream paint scheme is extremely special.

The SexyJet

The Alien Tiger

Another aircraft that has been prepared for the NATO Tiger Meet. The NATO Tiger Meet was held in Zaragoza, Spain, in 2016, and the aircraft shown here, entitled “Tiger Hind,” won the Tiger Aircraft Award for Best Looks. The painted bespoke helicopter is indeed a sight to behold. Don’t worry, this isn’t the last unique helicopter paint scheme you’ll see today. Doesn’t it look fantastic?

The Alien Tiger

Sukhoi Su-57

The Digi-camo paint job on this Soviet fighter plane is maybe the sleekest aircraft paint scheme on this list, if not always. If you’re paying attention in the United States, you might have noticed a recent USAF F-16 paint job that looks suspiciously similar to this one, near to the Air Force. Given that this jet is nearly identical to the USAF’s F-22 Raptor, we believe that since they steal entire fighter jet concepts, copying a paint job scheme can’t be that awful.

Sukhoi Su-57

Battery Powered Plane?

This custom paint work of Duracell batteries on the front of what appears to be a C-130 Hercules aircraft is incredible. We adore the custom airplane painting works that are so simple yet so effective-it resembles a battery! Furthermore, the fact that these Duracell AA batteries will be donated to Toys for Tots makes it even nicer. Congratulations to everyone involved, especially those who worked on the outstanding custom C-130 paint job!

Battery Powered Plane?

Royal Netherlands F-16 Fighter Jet

The Royal Netherlands Air Force features a number of loud and colorful aircraft in its aerobatics demonstration teams. The Netherlands Demoteam flew the F-16 fighter jet (now out of service), while the AH-64D Apache Solo Demonstration Team flew the AH-64 Apache helicopter. This is the Netherlands’ orange F-16, and I’d say he’s one heck of a bespoke jet fighter.

Helicopter Eagle

In practice, the Mil Mi-24 is a big artillery and attack helicopter with a limited troop transport capacity. Export models of the Mi-25 and Mi-35 include Mi-24 derivatives. But, the Hungarian Air Force’s custom-painted Mi-24V helicopter is the most appealing, exciting, and terrifying helicopter we’ve ever seen. From tail to tip, this monster screams like an eagle. This bespoke aircraft painting job is one of a kind.

Helicopter Eagle

Sweet Lips

Okay, we’ll be honest: we have no idea what’s going on. We do know that this is a Skyvan 3-100 Short SC-7, but beyond that, we have no idea what is going on. The lips are strange, the color scheme is out of place, and a tooth, whatever it is, is missing if you look closely. Let’s just move on to the next one.

May The Force Be With You

Everything All Nippon Airline accomplishes in terms of fantastic bespoke painting treatments on commercial airplanes is nothing short of amazing. Just look at it and tell us you don’t see something wonderful. There are three Star Wars-themed planes! These ANA airplanes with custom painted artwork are a fantastic idea, and every time you can incorporate Star Wars into your product, you’re guaranteed to boost your fan base. Quite a wonderful sight right here.

May The Force Be With You

The State Flag Of Colorado

Southwest Airlines got the nail on the head with this one. Southwest airlines carry a lot of traffic via Denver, so catering to the state of Colorado is a sensible idea. Southwest flights out of Denver just became a whole lot more relaxing with this custom-painted Southwest aircraft. Colorado’s state flag is prominently displayed here, which we like considering this could be the cleanest and crispest aircraft here.

The State Flag Of Colorado

Just Do It

Gulfstreams are highly expensive private jets. That’s irrelevant! There are no cheap private planes, so let’s just say that this Gulfstream G550 is quite pricey. Yet this is no ordinary jet painted white or gray. This jet has received more than a few coats of paint. The way the dark blue at the jet’s nose transforms to light blue is really captivating. This is a professional airline paint job.

Just Do It

Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell from Peter Pan is the major attraction of this plane’s aircraft painting. But don’t be duped. This isn’t simply another job for Tinkerbell. This jet was commissioned to appear like this as a result of a collaboration between Alaska Airlines and Disneyland. The amazing idea behind the notion was to reimagine Disneyland on an aircraft. Well, we must confess, it was a success.

Tinkerbell

Alaska

This sled-dog and airplane paint work with Alaskan nature elements is very fantastic! At least they’re moving progress. Commercial airliners with cool paint schemes, in our opinion, outperform private jets. If we could just show up to our airport and see one of them, that would be something.

Alaska

Front Of The Warthog Shark

The Warthog is as tough as an aircraft gets. It possesses a little car-sized canon, and the enemy powers have awful news. But we’re not here to talk about firearms and canons. We’re here to speak about art, and the logo on this plane’s mouth can be traced back to World War II. Snarling creatures have been painted on the mouths of fighter jets in accordance with this custom. We wanted the opponent to know we were serious about business.

Front Of The Warthog Shark

The Hawk T1

The British Aerospace Hawk T.1A employed by the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom has one of the most patriotic paint jobs we’ve seen. The Hawk T1, a single-engine jet trainer built in the United Kingdom, had a tandem cockpit. The Hawk was first flown in 1974 and has been used as an advanced training aircraft for nearly 40 years.

The Hawk T1

Winged Wings

An outstanding custom aircraft painting is the Oregon National Guard F-15E fighter jet painted as a bald eagle. The F-15 Eagle is a jet fighter with an unrivaled record of air-to-air combat success. The first F-15 Eagle flew in 1972 and was actively operated within the United States by the United States and the Air Force National Air Guard.

Winged Wings

Butterfly Wings

A butterfly-inspired aircraft paint scheme designed in Arizona for a private prop plane. The gradation of yellow, orange, and red contrasts nicely with the angles of the wings, which are framed in blue. It’s not exactly Pepsi blue, but it’s a good blue. Take a look at it. It looks fantastic!

Butterfly Wings

Pepsi Plane

You’ve probably heard of the famed Concorde, possibly because of its incredible speed. The Concorde’s peak speed exceeds Mach 2. But here’s the strange thing about this Pepsi plane and its bespoke paint job: in order for the plane to go full throttle, the famed Concorde’s livery must be white. This aircraft’s top speed is only 1.7 Mach because it is painted blue. Ultra-fast! But not as quickly as the other Concordes.

Pepsi Plane

To Infinity… And Beyond!

What’s better than a thirty-foot-tall Buzz Lightyear painted on the side of an airplane? We don’t think there’s much. China Eastern Airlines has given this 747 a remarkable makeover in partnership with Pixar. To make the experience even better, travelers receive an incredible Toy Story inspired boarding pass as they board the plane. Is there anything better than a personalized Toy Story aircraft?

To Infinity… And Beyond!

R2D2 Plane

Another Star Wars-inspired paint job! Sure, you like Star Wars, but do you like it enough to have it painted on a plane? Not many people do. All Nippon Airways, on the other hand, does. After signing a licensing agreement with Disney, the airline unveiled its Star Wars-themed plane. We’re wondering as to whose airplane painter did this work.

R2D2 Plane

Kangaroo Themed Paint Job

This one is from Qantas Airlines, and we can’t get enough of the red! The designer made an excellent job because the colorful kangaroos nicely compliment the red tone. You’re in for a colorful feast if you see this in the sky!

Kangaroo Themed Paint Job

Paint Splatter

Unlike many of the other aircraft on this list, this is not a passenger plane. It is, but it isn’t your typical one. This is an M2 Charter Aircraft, which some regard to be a private jet. And, yes, even though it appears to be the work of a six-year-old, this aircraft artwork is real. The massive color blotches may appear careless, but we believe the aircraft painters put a lot of effort into them.

Paint Splatter

Tiger Face

This aircraft is the result of a collaboration between Rossi Airlines and the Amur Tiger center. A stunning Amur Tiger graces the nose of the Boeing 737. The painting required approximately 500 kg of paint to complete, demonstrating its size. You should also know that the airline painter painted it freehand. Don’t you think that requires a great deal of skill?

Tiger Face

Let It Go!

When you fly in this plane, you can absolutely “Let It Go!” If you wanted to paint a frozen scene on your jet, you’d only need a hundred and seventy gallons of paint in over twenty-three different hues. At least, that’s what the Canadian WestJet airline wanted in order to finish this artwork of the stunt airline. It’s ironic that the painting’s topic is Frozen, but it seems so vibrant and alive!

Let It Go!

Shark Face

Take a look at it. This shark face will make galeophobics wish they had carried aircraft paint remover with them before flying. But, we believe that this horrifying aviation painting job would have been better suited to a ship or, even better, a submarine. Sharks aren’t supposed to be able to fly, right?

Shark Face

Similar Looking Camo

This is a side-by-side comparison of Russia’s Su-57 (top) and the United States Air Force’s F-16. Well, they appear to be remarkably similar to one another. It makes you question which came first, doesn’t it? In any case, these two are incredible.

Similar Looking Camo

Rosie

Savvy, gorgeous, and private, just way a jet should be. The baby blue private jet with flowers and crows looks about as good as a private jet custom painting job might. We can’t dispute that the baby blue and flowers look great together. Let’s call the plane “Rosie” because of its design.

Rosie

Flying Whale

This airplane not only has a superb paint job, but it also has an uncanny resemblance to what is painted on. The Beluga whale resembles this aircraft (except for the wings, of course). Without a doubt, the aircraft painter commissioned for this piece has expertly brought out the parallels between the two entities. If you believe the shape of this airplane is weird, you’re not alone. This is due to the fact that this aircraft is the world’s largest commercial airplane.

Flying Whale

Borealis Aurora

Icelandair gave this plane a makeover as part of their “Icelandair Stopover” marketing. The lovely hues of the plane depict the famed Northern Lights. This natural occurrence is what makes the country famous, and it appears that they merely wanted to expose it to the world. This has to be one of the nicest aviation paintings we’ve ever seen. Any country this plane passes over could see the aurora borealis with this paint job!

Borealis Aurora

Black Mamba

If you’ve never seen the F-16 demo team, you should look up their schedule and go to one near you as soon as possible. These fighter jets have incredible maneuverability. Oh, and the black mamba viper’s paint job is also rather nice. Just take a look at this plane; it’s impossible to claim it doesn’t look good!

Black Mamba

The Shark From Jaws

This charming old-school military plane appears as natural as a Jaws shark. Other than that, this is an excellent painting work. We’re sure whoever did this paint job was pleased with their work because the painting is stunning and clean. All we could say was, “Well done!”

The Shark From Jaws

The Dragon

This fighter jet is currently assigned to the Italian Air Force’s aerobatics team. The dragon paint job is simply a marketing ploy to get folks in the door, and then BOOM, the pilots blow the audience’s socks off with remarkable flight abilities. We think it’s very cool!

The Dragon

Santa Got What?!

“We hit him as we were flying over Seattle on our way to the lower 48…how are we going to tell everyone?” Regarding the fictitious event involving a Boeing jumbo jet colliding with Santa Claus, the imagined pilot stated. Whoever came up with this paint job concept deserves a promotion!

Santa Got What?!

The Pastures

This Swiss International Airlines passenger jet is on its way to greener pastures! They set the tone with this paint job. “You’re going somewhere nice and quiet, get in the mood.” I tell the clients. With a paint job like this, you can be sure you’ll be flying safely!

The Pastures

Orca Plane

A time-honored partnership. This spectacular orca-themed paint job is both simple and powerful. There’s no need for elaborate design, simply a few colors and key facial traits, and the orca aircraft outlines are complete! SeaWorld carries huge whales and fish in planes. Were you made aware of this?

Orca Plane

Flying Tiger

Look at how sleek and cool the paint job is! We’d be horrified if we saw a flying tiger like that! It’s difficult not to be impressed by a paint job like this, especially given how well it’s done and how amazing it looks!

Flying Tiger

Birdplane

Birdplane, you’re right. This is the name we’re going with for this one. Star bald eagle in the foreground, generic bird in the background. Two propellers and a nasty color palette round off the ensemble, and I’m not going to lie: it screams “FREEDOM!” to me.

Birdplane

F-15 Eagle

This F-15 looks incredible! It is owned by the Oregon National Guard and is used nearly entirely for aerobatics and marketing purposes. We like how they kept the plane’s nose in its original color, which makes the other paint job stand out even more.

F-15 Eagle

Mig-21

If the A-10 Warthog had a younger sibling who isn’t as good at school, sports, or painting, this would be it! The yellow on this one is fantastic. The rest of it is still up in the air. Still, we have to give kudos to whoever did the painting on this one; we’re sure they did their best!

Mig-21

Noah’s Sky Ark

All aboard, a pair of each creature! This Emirates plane is definitely noisier than all of these creatures together. The airline is based in Garhoud, Dubai, and is a part of The Emirates Group, which is owned by the Dubai government’s Investment Corporation of Dubai.

Noah’s Sky Ark

All Aboard To Middle Earth!

If Frodo and the Fellowship had taken this plane on their route to Mt. Doom, they would have saved a lot of time! On second thinking, the film would be meaningless if such were the case. Still, kudos to whoever did the painting on this one. They did an excellent job!

All Aboard To Middle Earth!

Model Pictures

Imagine boarding a plane on your route to wherever you need to go, only to realize that its design is identical to your model photo as you approach the plane. How awesome would that be? You get to fly in a jet designed specifically for you! We believe it’s fantastic!

Model Pictures

What Even Is This?

We’re at a loss for words on this one. At first glance, it appears to be the Joker’s private helicopter, but upon closer investigation, you’ll notice that it isn’t even close! Well, whatever it is, don’t you think it looks cool?

What Even Is This?

Have A Catch them All!

These jets, possibly the oldest on this list, have been in service since the 1990s. The first aircraft was introduced in 1998, and the market response was so positive that the airline released another Pokémon aircraft. The plane, on the other hand, has become obsolete and is no longer fit for flying. However, the airline painting jobs are still worthy of attention!

Gotta Catch ‘Em All!

The Incredibles

In 2018, Alaska Airlines repainted one of their planes. This was done to get into the mood of the release of the Incredibles 2 film. The repainted plane, along with the popular Alaskan airline Eskimo, sported the Incredibles on its fuselage. We assume that the sight of this plane would have made many children delighted. Some grumpy grownups, on the other hand, would have wished they had an aircraft paint remover with them!

The Incredibles
