Unique Happy Hour Ideas For Your Office

When it comes to organising an enjoyable happy hour at the office, it doesn’t have to be a traditional booze-fueled experience like we see in the movies. While a cold beer and a nice glass of wine can be a wonderful way to unwind after a long week, organising drinks for the office is almost certain to exclude a substantial portion of the team. It helps to start thinking out of the box about ways to bring everyone together in a social setting, and the office happy hour can involve a variety of new ideas, each of which we’ll be outlining briefly today.

Ice Cream & Frozen Yoghurt

Who doesn’t love a good old scoop of ice cream or froyo to wrap up a summery work day? Happy hour could be transformed into something completely new with this tradition. Both of these products can be bought in bulk and stored in the office freezer, so you won’t have to worry about going out and buying new stock each week. It also gives you the chance to play around a bit with flavor combinations and to get everyone talking about what they enjoy. Encourage the team to bring some topics from home, and soon it becomes a delightful, inclusive experience for all parties involved.

Pizza & Wings

Pizza And Wings

For something a little more on the savoury side, pizza and wings are a great choice. Two of the most popular foods in America, these two go together like Trump and Bolsonaro. Each week, the team can decide on what they want to order, and you can try and cater to dietary requirements throughout the course of a month, rotating choices, to make sure you don’t get overwhelmed by trying to please everyone on the first try. Pizza and wings are a great way to get the team to “break bread” together so to speak, and here a drink or two could turn up the fun dial a couple of notches.

Taco Tuesday

That said, Taco Tuesday still remains a worldwide trend, that perhaps shouldn’t be done the day after Meatless Monday, but can still be a fun way to make happy hour a great shared experience for the members of the team. Here you can get creative with the various types of tacos, the fillings, and also what sauces people like to use. Pick a specific department in charge of supplying the tacos each week (while contributing to the costs) and watch which teams rise to the occasion. Incentivise the experience and ask participants to do some research about tacos in different parts of the world. There may be calls for tequila, but this isn’t a requirement, and Taco Tuesday is something that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of it being a dry experience or not. Here’s to many wonderful Happy Hours!
