Burt Reynolds – 100 Rifles Over On Her Majesty’s Secret Service

1969 was the year that Burt Reynolds came incredibly close to appearing as James Bond, particularly in the film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. He was of the opinion that his American status would not allow him to portray the debonair British spy. Rather, he became passionate about Westerns, with 100 Rifles being produced around the same time as that time’s James Bond entry. He spoke of the experiencing, saying, “I spent the entire time refereeing fights between Jim Brown and Raquel Welch.”

John Travolta – Pulp Fiction Over Forrest Gump

If you have gotten sick of hearing Forrest Gump being quoted, imagine how Jon Travolta feels, given that he took the role of Vine Vega in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction over playing the titular Forrest Gump. The role was then handed to Tom Hanks instead, who won the Academy Award for Best Actor. We are not saying that Pulp Fiction is not an iconic film, but Forrest Gump is just slightly more of a lauded title.
