As hard as it may be to believe at first, the picture had such an impact that fan clubs and websites started popping up all over the internet from the single shot. This led to fans tracking down more pictures of the athlete, which would eventually be seen by millions of people around the world. A lot of men referred to Allison as their “internet crush”, and in the way that happens to many professional women, she felt she was beginning to be seen only as a sex symbol and not for the incredible athlete she was.
