Ungela Brockman Now
After her role in Starship Troopers, Ungela Brockman’s acting career went nowhere, much like her co-star Tami-Adrian George’s. Brockman had appeared in the failure Showgirls in 1995 before landing the part of the invincible corporal in Paul Verhoeven’s sci-fi masterpiece. Brockman’s filmography also includes roles in Showgirls, Starship Troopers, and Mystery Man. Brockman’s final performance as Corporal Birdie was the final nail in the coffin for her acting career. Let’s hope she’s happy and successful in a new field.
Seth Gilliam As Sergeant Sugar Watkins
Sergeant Sugar Watkins, a vicious warrior who enters the picture midway through the battle, was played by Seth Gilliam. Sergeant Sugar, like Corporal Birdie, has a deep reverence for Lieutenant Rasczak. After Sergeant Sugar sacrifices himself to save Rico and his squad from being captured, the movie ends with Sergeant Sugar being shot and killed. Atkins’ character evolved from a frighteningly cruel one in the beginning to a heroically unselfish one at the end of the story.
