Sportsmen and women will tell you that bigger is always better. The larger and stronger you are, the more likely you are to win. Throughout fighting history, all the way to the modern-day arena, the most fearsome and powerful colossi have taken to the fighting arena to crush their opponents, all to their stunned audiences’ amazement. While it is clear that a towering height and enormous frame make you a lot more fearsome, such advantages do not guarantee you the win. Who is the most gigantic of them all? Find out in this article.
Konishiki Yasokichi – 633 lbs
Sumo wrestlers are always large and this rikishi does not disappoint. He tops the scale at 633 lb. and is known to his fans as “dump truck” and “Meat Bomb” as a result. In the past most of these wrestlers were Japanese and few greenhorns came from overseas. This untrained wrestler from Honolulu Hawaii managed to win in his class a few times and was nearly the only non-Japanese to become a successful challenger.
Margo Dydek – 7’2”
Margo was originally from Poland and achieved a lot of success in the WNBA. Her height made her the lankiest female player on the courts at the time. Her untimely death in 2011 after a coronary shocked the world especially as she was expecting another child. Fans remember her playing center for Connecticut Sun and subsequently coaching the Northside Wizards in the Queensland Basketball League. Few could dunk like Dydek could!
