The Ultimate Marriage
As a student at California State University, Fullerton, Kevin Costner met his future wife after being nominated as the homecoming queen of the year. At the time, beautiful Cindy Silva worked part-time portraying Snow White at Disneyland. The two kicked it off immediately and got married in 1987.
During a 1989 interview, Costner said about Cindy that “She was beautiful, she was sweet, she was smarter than me.” He added, “She represented everything about women that I like. They had three children, and although they were married for many years, it didn’t stay happy forever.
Costner Searching For Freedom
Kevin and Cindy presented a marriage that the world thought was perfect. The two even owned a horse they named “Proud-to-be-together,” but it is easy to forget that just because they are famous, these are still two people who were trying to make things work as a couple, which is never easy… and later interviews revealed that it was not all matrimonial paradise for the couple.
Costner revealed in 1987 that he was a man who liked to be free and loves the finer things of life. To be governed by a woman was not his thing. This made the public angry at him as his portrait was different from what they knew. However, his business associates were not surprised.
