While their in-prison relationship was naturally tumultuous, there was a moment in the series where the pair shared a steam kiss in a chapel of all places. While fans appreciated the moment, and the very impromptu kiss, as it turns out people were no longer as keen to see the pair end up together. The kiss was well received, albeit shocking to many viewers. What a powerful show, with such a phenomenal ending.

Cheers is one of the most notable TV shows of the 80’s, and in the show characters Diane and Sam had somewhat of a bitter relationship. Known for being at odds, showrunners quickly noted that there was chemistry between Ted Danson and Shelley Long underneath all the sarcastic comments. Fans eventually caught on to the idea as well, and soon the writers were making plans to set up a big kiss between the pair that nobody would see coming.
