Terry then took a pocket knife out and began sawing into Anna’s beloved piece. Anna was horrified as her man handed back the destroyed pendant. She could not believe what he had just done! Was he out of his mind? This was her most treasured possession that she had done everything in her power to keep safe. She looked at the shattered treasure with tears in her eyes, but they would not be formed by misery for very long.

Anna was initially furious at Terry, thinking that he had brought her all the way to these caves to pull some psychotic prank on her. She honestly believed that he had finally lost his mind. But as Anna properly looked at the broken pendant, she saw that it had been split perfectly in half. There, buried in the middle of that special thing, was something that took her breath away.
