Johnny Carson was, or we could say still is, ht eking of late-night shows as his career started back in 1962. After three decades of non-stop entertainment, the hosts of The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson retired. However, he would not bow out without his fair share of success. The star walked away in pride with six Emmy Awards, a 1985 Peabody Award, and the 1980 Television Academy’s Governer’s Award. Respects to you, Mr. Carson.

This is Susan Sarandon at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival promoting her film Pretty Baby. She has been a stalwart in the film industry for decades. Sarandon noted she realized her mission to step out from the ordinary didn’t sit well with many people, especially white men, who believed a lot of women should not have been given the role in society that they were achieving. She was not up for settling like many others who gave men too much credit than they deserved.
