The Edge, aka David Evens, was born on the 8th of August, 1961 in England. His incredibly unique talents as a guitarist can be attributed to the impressive fact that he taught himself to play the guitar.

He was given the nickname “The Edge” when he was younger and possibly because he always tended to be on the edge of things rather than get involved. Otherwise, it could also be his angular head shape that earned him the nickname. In 1970, he joined U2 and made a name for himself with his ability to complement the vocals of frontman Bono with his incredible guitar skills. “I Will Follow” and “The Fly” are just a couple of songs that he is most well-known for.

Elmore James was born on the 27th of January 1918 in Mississippi. As a young boy, he discovered music and learned to play stringed instruments. The first instrument that he learned was the diddley boy, although, his love for rock was found when he got his very first guitar.

His love for the guitar brought him to create his very own unique style and he found fame with his slide skills. One particular guitarist admitted to practicing James’ music until the point where his fingers bled before he had discovered that James was using a slide. The legend is most well-known for “The Sky Is Crying” and “Dust My Broom” among several others that merged blues with rock.
