Political Stance
We have seen a lot of celebrities who have made their political preference public, as well as many of them opting to run for mayor or a seat in Congress or the Senate.
Roy, too was eyed for a position in politics (especially for the character that he had) and was approached to enter representational politics in the House of Representatives. However, he declined the offer and noted he had fans across all political landscape and didn’t want to jeopardize his relationship with any of them.

Roy was successful as an actor and singer and has had some great accomplishments in his career over the years. He became one of the biggest household names in westerns in the U.S. and has received a lot of awards for his works. But, at the time, what greater opportunity could one ask for than being asked to join “The Muppet Show”?
Roy and Dale were cast on the show in 1979, which made them one of only three celebrity couples ever to make it there. They joined the likes of Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge, and Robert Shields and Lorene Jansson.
