Being a successful actor in his lifetime, Rogers could have allowed the studios to do the bulk of the work while just enjoyed the fruit of his labor, but he never saw himself as that kind of actor.
Instead, Roy wanted to step out and make a name for himself in the production arena and control his projects. As such, he created his own production company that had its success over time. This same company later went on to produce “The Roy Rogers Show as well as another short series called “Brace Eagle.”

Stopping the Deal
Roy’s successes in filmmaking were at an all-time high, but with this, he wanted to go into TV shows, but his studio worked against the deal. He was soon to find out that Republic was on a mission to turn a lot of his pre-existing movies into TV shows without his permission or without notifying him.
But, Seeing Roy had full rights to his name and likeness, he was able to stop that deal and was later thrown overboard by Republic. But did he mind? Not at all, as he was now able to pursue another chapter of his career – making TV shows.
