A Love Affair
As the years went by, Rogers would soon find a love interest in a woman who had been admiring him for a while. They got pretty close, and before long, the two got married in 1933.
The honeymoon and the first phase of the marriage were all good but not so much after some time. It turned out the feelings they had for each other had overshadowed the true reality of what it was, and it was only a rushed commitment. Just three years later, the two got a divorce after things were not so smooth between them.
Another Love Strike
Rogers was still going through the breakup with Acolese when he received an interesting request on a radio station he had been performing. A woman named Grace Wilkins called in to make a proposition in that if Rogers performed “The Swiss Yodel” for her, he would get a freshly baked pie.
Of course, Rogers took on the challenge, and from then, the two would start regular communication. When the divorce to his first wife was over, Rogers married his new love in June of the same year (1936).
