Knowing when his trips took place, she knew that she could search by specific dates, in order to find the pictures matching his various travels. This would give her a clear idea about the photos he took, if he had even taken any photos during that time at all. She was particularly curious about the dates related to his Denver visits, which she was keen to dig into as a result of the call she had received late the night before.

It was as Sara had feared. During the Denver dates, there were no pictures to be found. Mark always kept backups on his desktop, in case anything happened to his laptop or his cloud drive became compromised. Using basic deductive reasoning, Sara realized that he must not have taken any pictures during those trips at all. This could only mean that he was hiding something from her. She started to believe that the worst of her fears must be coming true.
