Ray Liotta – Muppets From Space Over The Sopranos

Goodfellas, the murderous mobster film by Martin Scorsese, put Ray Liotta on the map as a capable gangster character actor. When The Sopranos by HBO begin putting together its cast, Liotta was offered top billing. Liotta would not bring Tony Soprano to life, however, choosing Muppets from Space over one of television’s most beloved characters. We doubt that anyone could have played the volatile mafioso better than James Gandolfini, and so this was a fated result.

Henry Winkler – The One and Only Over Grease

Missing out on this opportunity of a lifetime was a bitter pill to swallow for Henry Winkler, who turned down the role of Danny Zuko in the celebrated musical film, Grease. Indeed, Winkler was originally approached to play Danny Zuko, deciding that he could not risk being typecast following his time with Happy Days as Fonz. Instead, John Travolta took the much-needed fame and glory as the male lead in the 1978 classic. As for Winkler, he ended up in The One and Only, a decision that he admittedly regretted.
