The part of Captain America was hotly contested between Sebastian Stan and Chris Evans, but the latter actor finally took the shield. The role of Bucky Barnes then went to Stan, who is Captain America’s dearest pal and a United States Army sergeant. Stan then began preparing himself for the historical role by reading comic books for the first time and sitting through as many World War II documentaries as possible. Then there was the friendship with Captain America that he needed to foster as convincingly as possible.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine Producers Gave Stephanie Beatriz Another Chance
Stephanie Beatriz auditioned for the part of Amy Santiago for the cop sitcom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Beatriz would not end up landing the role of Amy, but she would be called back to try out for Rosa, rather. Despite having had her confidence shaken after the initial rejection, Beatriz did return, and managed to read Amy’s parts so well that she got the part. If Beatriz was still sore that she didn’t get the first role that she tried out for, she did not show it, as she praised Melissa Fumero’s part.
