Charla Inspires Change
Although Charla had been badly injured during the tragedy, that did not mean that her life was over. On the contrary – Charla would become a spokeswoman on human and wild animal relations. Given that there are countless members of wild species being held in private captivity, Charla’s mission is to try and speak sense into their owners. Charla even made a couple of appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, where she courageously shared her incredible tale.

It has been a very difficult time for Charla since the day of the attack, but thanks to the miracles of modern science and medicine, she is doing so much better. Charla was a candidate for experimental reconstructive surgeries that helped her to be more like her normal self again. Although she has plenty of hard work left to do, Charla will never give up and we are sure that one day she will be back on her feet.
