The Lunik was “Borrowed”
The Soviets decided to have a tour of their Sputnik and Lunik models. But, what they didn’t know is that operatives from the US “borrowed” the Lunik to get a better understanding of how it worked as well as source relevant information about it. The team was even skilled in returning the goods without the Soviet knowing anything. This information was revealed in a CIA journal by one of the operatives.

When the Titanic sank after hitting the iceberg, a lot of people believed the U.S. Navy search team was out on a mission to find it. However, their real mission was to find two of their other ships that had sunk – USS Thresher and USS Scorpion. Finding the Titanic was merely an “interesting accident,” and this was only revealed to the public lately.
