An entirely separate story precedes this one. EasyJet Airlines was supposed to fly 88-year-old Joy Burton from Luton to Bordeaux, but instead left her at the airport and went off with her luggage to southwest France.

Joy was going to Bordeaux in order to visit her son, while her other son, made a four-hour trip from Canterbury to take her to the airport, helped her to check in her suitcase and they said goodbye at the security terminal entrance. There was 90 minutes before the airplane departure time so Joy wasn’t hurrying.
