Marg Helgenberger quit CSI following similar reasoning that of actor William Petersen, who was also a cast member, did. She debuted in the year 2000 and worked on the program for a total of twelve seasons which spans to over a decade. Helgenberger made the decision to depart CSI in the early 2010s so she may pursue acting chances outside of the CSI program.

During her tenure in the program, Catherine”s over a decade tenure on the program came to a close when she accepted a position with the F.B.I. headquarters in Quantico. Doctor Lawrence Kutner, played by Kal Penn for the television drama House, actually shot himself and committed suicide in the late 2000s setting of the show. According to rumors, Penn’s part was written off from the medical-themed program so that Penn could seek a path outside of the filmmaking industry.

Penn told reporters from various newspaper companies that he actually didn’t quit because of any sensational rumors. He left on his own action to seek a career or profession outside of the industry which he believed was the proper step for him, and there definitely were “no artistic disputes.
