The Martian – Special Consideration
Obviously, we understand what’s running through your mind, and you’re correct: The Martian (being a historical account) has not yet occurred… until it will. The movie was actually a representation of a work by an author. The author made real through words the possibility of a person surviving the harsh conditions of another planet.

We argue this movie deserves to be mentioned in our ranking since, while the tale is totally imaginary, the science being presented from it is backed up by evidence and research from independent groups of researchers. The production was also guided by experts to not misrepresent this great possibility that might open up a new chapter in the history of mankind.
Milk
Filmmaker Gus Van Sant aimed for truth when directing the 2008 movie on Harvey Milk, who was the very first openly homosexual public figure in California historical records. Milk’s own documented oral historical records were utilized to really bring out the authenticity of this important event in the fight for the LGBTQ+ movement. Several people who were personally dear to the activist were brought in as consultants to the movie.

The film incorporates a significant amount of historical visual recordings of the activist so as to really imprint the importance of the event to the rights and freedom enjoyed by members of the LGBTQ+ community.
