Letters From Iwo Jima
With several battlefields and players, WWII appears to never cease to inspire filmmakers to go and show through their work the realities of that time. “Letters From Iwo Jima”, released in the mid-2000s, is a movie that tells the history of the conflict that took place in the small, yet highly strategic island of Iwo Jima in the southern region of Japan.
The movie is primarily in the Japanese language, and it depicts the Japanese perspective of the conflict. Despite the fact that it is deeply culturally and heritage-wise themed, the movie actually had filmmaker Clint Eastwood to helm the movie. The movie is filled with scenes that are founded on incidents and events that one could verify in history books.
