There is a little village in the United States that serves as the setting for the fantasy-horror series created by Matt and Ross Duffer. A whole neighborhood is transformed when a little kid goes missing, and his family and friends are compelled to confront otherworldly beings in order to find their son’s remains.

“Dark,” Netflix’s first German-language (subtitled) film, is set in the current day and chronicles the tale of two children who inexplicably vanish from their hamlet in northern Germany at the start of the film. At the end of1986, the story and its four families find themselves back in the little town where they all started their journey and where they have remained ever since.
