Lynn Swann

January 18, 1976, at the Superbowl X. Lynn Swann of Steelers wide receiver fame seems about to trip over Mark Washington, the fallen defender for the Cowboys as he catches the ball. The Super Bowl had never handed the MVP award to a receiver before Swann’s sterling performance. He covered 161 yards with four passes and the 21-17 Pittsburgh victory could not have been achieved without his touchdown. Swann then became something of an inspiration for wide receivers.

Bill Mazeroski

7 October 13, 1960, at the World Series Game. Bill Mazeroski, the second baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates, shoots off the beginning of a home run that would take the game for the Pirates. The pitching player is Ralph Terry of the New York Yankees. While this picture might not seem like much, this home run would be the sole walk-off home run to go down in Game 7, ever. Mazeroski’s record remains bound in iron, it seems!
