The success of the show opened doors for him in both theatre and film, paving a long-standing career in the entertainment industry. He played the iconic Jason Bourne in The Bourne Identity long before Matt Damon did, as well as performing in The Thorn Birds, King Solomon’s Mines, and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold. Chamberlain has also been one of the first openly gay actors in the industry, a role model for many for not being ashamed of who you are and worried that the industry will judge you for it.
