Anita Ekberg
Swedish-born actress, Anita Ekberg, started modeling when she was young, joining the 1950s beauty pageant Miss Malmö, followed by Miss Sweden, and then in 1951, Miss Universe. Although she didn’t win the pageant she was in the final six which got her a “starlet” contract with Universal Studios, where slowly but surely she was introduced to the film industry. She eventually moved permanently to Italy, where she filmed one of her most famous films La Dolce Vita. She died in 2015.
Barbara Eden
Barbara Eden is best known for her lead role in Dream of Jeannie, the 1960s sitcom. She was actually not what the creators of the show originally wanted as they didn’t want to mimic Bewitched, another fantasy show which also had a blonde female lead. But in the event, apparently, Eden made such an impression on them they didn’t mind changing plans. She has left a timeless mark on Hollywood, being an incredibly lauded individual in general.
