Sharon Tate

Sharon Tate was praised for her beauty since she was young, became a model, and was making it into the film industry as a promising newcomer after starring in a number of dramas as well as comedies. Unfortunately, her acting credits are mostly overlooked as she will forever be remembered for her tragic and senseless death at the hands of the Manson ‘clan’. At the time of her murder, she was eight months pregnant with the child of her husband, director, and fellow actor, Roman Polanski.

Brigitte Bardot

French dancer, singer, and actress Brigitte Bardot was one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and 60s. She started out as a junior model while still studying ballet, appearing on the cover of Elle at the age of 15 which subsequently brought her some acting offers. She began acting in a number of hit French theatre productions, and received international attention with her role in Robert Vadim’s controversial film And God Created Women. At a time of general conservatism, she often portrayed sexually liberated women, and even inspired Simone de Beauvoir’s feminist essay Brigitte Bardot and The Lolita Syndrome. She retired from acting just before her 39th birthday and used her fame to promote animal rights. Recently she has also been fined five times for inciting racial hatred.
