Things could turn very ugly in Chita’s enclosure if Timmermans had been allowed to continue flirting with him. Loneliness was only one of Chita’s problems, and Chita could face violent attacks if the situation didn’t change immediatley. While many people believe that chimps are sweet and cute creatures, they can be extremely violent! In fact, chimps are the most aggressive species in the world, behind humans. The thought of Chita being hurt for his forbidden relationship was too much to bear.

The Zookeepers Step In
Lafaut was not going to stand by and watch one of her beloved zoo’s members suffer. A large part of her job is keeping the peace between her guests, and she was not going to allow this inappropriate woman to mess with nature. Timmermans was then banned from the zoo and the star-crossed lovers were separated, for good. Timmermans was obviously heartbroken when she was informed that she would not be allowed back into the zoo.
